January Quarterly Meeting Recap
Posted on: February 03, 2017
On Tuesday, January 24, 2017, the GSI Partners gathered at Temple University Center City for our January Quarterly Meeting. At this meeting, we recognized all the work the GSI Partners and its members have accomplished in 2016 and looked ahead to 2017.
Highlights of our review included our advocacy efforts to reaffirm and prioritize Green City, Clean Waters in the Kenney Administration; GSI Partners’ programming, including the Soil and Plant symposia with the Delaware Valley Green Building Council and the 2nd annual GSI Operations & Maintenance Course; and research publications like our report, the Economic Impact of GCCW: The First Five Years. Highlights of our year ahead include updates from Monitoring Grant recipients, our second annual Excellence in GSI Awards Ceremony, ongoing advocacy around incentives and facilitation of GSI, and more.
Our guest presenter was Marc Cammarata, Deputy Commissioner of Planning and Environmental Services at the Philadelphia Water Department. Mr. Cammarata shared performance and cost data from PWD’s recent Evaluation and Adaptation Plan submitted to the EPA on GCCW. Mr. Cammarata also emphasized what PWD has learned throughout the first five years, and that partners and private businesses have contributed to that learning and have positively affected the planning, design and implementation of GSI.
