Candidates Discuss GCCW at SBN’s Good Economy Challenge Mayoral Forum
Posted on: May 05, 2015
The five Democrats in the Philadelphia Mayoral Race were at Temple University to participate in the Sustainable Business Network’s Good Economy Challenge Mayoral Forum. They were asked a series of questions to guage their support for SBN’s 5-point platform. The auditorium was full of SBN members, partner organizations, and other Philadelphia residents supporting a strong local economy.
We want to give a special thanks to the nine organizations that endorsed our call to advance Green City, Clean Waters: the Delaware Valley Green Building Council, Natural Resources Defense Council, PennFuture, the Building Industry Association of Philadelphia, the Urban Land Institute of Philadelphia, Clean Water Action, the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership, the Conservation Voters of PA, and the PA/DE Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
While all of the candidates voiced support for GCCW in some form, it is clear that many of them don’t fully appreciate this plan’s current and potential impacts. Our advocacy work must go on!
